Half day swim clinics to help you improve your front crawl technique for triathlon. The morning consists of swim technique and drills while individual video anaylsis takes place. The group view the individual swim films helping you learn from your own as well as other videos. Alongside this a breakdown of how the swim stroke and the elements involved to help you improve. The morning finishes off with a second swim to help practice what you have learnt and drills to help you to alter your strokes.  Up and Active have individual clinics as well as joined forces with Active Training World for Swim Clinics.

Active Training World & Up and Active are now offering swim analysis days specific for triathlon clubs, so if your club is interested in a group session for 12 people, then please get in touch.




If you have been struggling with your swim technique in the pool then the clinics are a great opportunity to improve your technique and efficiency. It will enable you to learn more about applying the correct swimming stroke, you will have your technique analysed under and over the water and each participant will recieve individual feedback and coaching from Tanja Slater.


Having video analysis of your stroke is undoubtedly the best way for you to understand your current technique and position enabling you to make massive improvements in speed and efficiency, meaning faster swim splits and saving more energy for the rest of the race.

What is included on the Swim Clinic:

  • Coaching from front pack swimmer, former Elite triathlete & PRO cyclist Tanja Slater
  • 1 hour swim session at the start where everyone will have their stroke videoed + drills
  • 2 hour classroom session and individual video analysis of your swimming stroke with helpful pointers to continue working on from Tanja Slater
  • 1 hour swim session to get back in the pool and try out what you have learned under the guidance of Tanja Slater


Provisional Programme (times for St. Albans)
09:00-10:00am : Group swim session and individual Filming
10:15-12:20am : Classroom session on swimming technique and individual video analysis
12:30-13:30pm : Return to the pool and apply what you have learned with drills.
Each participant will be emailed a video of their swim stroke after the clinic so you have a record of your technique as well as the drills that you performed during the morning. Each day will be strictly limited to 12 swimmers to ensure that everyone gets as much coaching and individual attention as possible. 
Cost: £80 per person in St. Albans (including Water Bottle & Memory Stick with your videos)

Aimed for

The clinics would be ideal for triathletes or swimmers who are looking to improve their swimming technique and may have reached either a technical or fitness plateau. It is not designed for complete beginners, (unless there is demand for a beginners clinic) as a learn to swim clinic so it would be expected that you can already swim 200m without stopping.
